Dacor is a provider
of some of the slickest most unique pieces of kitchen appliance on the market.
The one regrettable blemish on this otherwise stellar company is the availability
of Dacor parts. The ability for an individual to fix their product their selves
is severely crippled by the unavailability of Dacor parts. There just aren't
many parts providers. Service providers are a different story but that is of
little assistance to the aspiring do-it-your-selfer who has a malfunctioning
Dacor product. It seems the only choice one has is to hire a service expert
to come fix the product themselves in most cases.
This does not include
something like dacor.partstore.com which has all the Dacor parts you could ask
for. Dacor itself however does not provide any sort of ability or link to get
parts from their website besides providing you with parts providers in your
area. Apparently these are few and far between because upon searching for parts
providers in my area I would have to drive out of the length of the state of
Kentucky and into another state to find a Dacor parts provider. Of course this
is not the most desirable of circumstances if I'm trying to fix up my Dacor
products.
You could buy Dacor
parts through one of the affiliate sites like I described earlier which seems
alright to work with besides a less than friendly interface. The websites are
a cluttered mess and have that "we just through this together to make money"
feel to them. It just leaves a bad taste in your mouth but at least you can
find your parts. However, what you are left with is a small monopoly on online
Dacor parts. There's just no competition if there are only one or two sites
to buy from. What's more you have no prices to compare between parts.
What Dacor needs
to do is make Dacor parts available on their website like so many other home
appliance companies. This way you, the do it yourself consumer can have a baseline
to which you compare prices from other sites to. Sites that at first glance
seem like they were thrown together by money hungry internet moguls. Although
Dacor's prices may not make it the most desirable of places to buy from, at
least they will put pressure on other websites to have lower prices for the
same Dacor parts. That's business.
In short, Dacor
parts are available and they are out there, but apparently not in many places,
on the world wide web or in the world. They must increase the availability of
Dacor parts if they are to reach a level of customer service that will appeal
to the average consumer that doesn't have the money to hire some Dacor expert
to come fix their washing machine. The ability to fix these problems ourselves
is what makes appliances easy to work with because then we can take the problem
into our own hands. Dacor needs to facilitate this much more than it has at
this point.
